Hello and Welcome Lovely People!

In my limited experience of supper clubs and pop up restaurants I would say that they are usually shrouded in a bit of mystery, and that really is what makes them fun.
My first food club experience was a fabulous one, although myself and best friend Jill naturally were genuinely concerned that we may be murdered. Turning up to a strangers house looking for food could have many potential dangers. As worriers we reckoned supper clubs could be the perfect disguise for serial killers. So one thing I can promise is that I am NOT a serial killer.
While I want to maintain some element of surprise I suppose I must provide some information, or else who would come?! My aim is to fill people's tummies with food that makes them feel good. It seems the world is obsessed with food and in particular healthy food. Yep, I am the biggest advocate of healthy eating but it can be taken too seriously and too far. We are constantly bombarded with messages about what we should and shouldn't be eating and what I would love to create is a relaxed atmosphere where health is featured not at the forefront of the experience but enjoyment is. You can come to my home for lunch and know that the food will be good for you... But not so "good" that it is boring or tasteless. I promise to use REAL ingredients and cook something up that is recognisable to most people. *Disclaimer*.... But if you are scared of vegetables my kitchen may not be for you!!  Basically how can I tell you what to expect when I don't know what to expect? So come along and we can see what happens. I cannot promise much other than a warm welcome, tasty food with a healthy edge and hopefully some craic. And if that information is not sufficient you can check out my personal Instagram HERE or my athletics blog HERE.... Go on give me a wee stalk because I know you want to.
One of my favourite salads. Maybe something you can expect.. or maybe not..!
I have been wanting to do this for a long time and I can tell you I have dreamt about it a lot.... And filled many a favourite note book with menu ideas and recipe scrawls. As a teenager I trained for a year as a pastry chef and started baking cakes casually on my gap year which then slowly took over my life. I started university, my athletics training ramped up a level and that was the end of that. Between myself and my mum we own too many cookbooks and share an extreme food obsession that drives the men in our lives mad. We fill cupboards and boxes with recipe books and food magazines, yet we still buy more with the hope that it will contain recipes to change our lives. In reality they don't. We are creatures of habit and we always fall back on our favourite meals and ingredients.
So for my first lunch club I will be serving "my favourites". The dishes I fall back on when the going gets tough and all I want is some food for my soul. This is my comfort food;  it may not be what you expect but why not find out?
Another of my salads from recent weeks
The first event will be held on Friday 4th December 2015 at 12:30pm in my house . Everyone is welcome and I mean everyone. If you are on maternity leave with a young baby that is fine, if you want to turn up in Lycra or pyjamas that is fine, if you are under the age of 20 or over 80 that is also fine, whoever you are you are welcome in my home.
I am currently wavering between nervousness, excitement and feeling like I may boke so please be kind but also be honest.
Tickets are available to purchase on eventbrite from the link attached HERE
The cost is £16 per person and includes welcome drink, 2 lunch sized courses, tea or coffee and petit fours (which you can scoff or take home).
I really hope to see you there. I will leave you with a picture of my mug enjoying a Lobster roll... as you do.

NOTE- with my nutrition interest I am mindful of all dietary requirements. Please let me know in advance of any requirements and I will do my best. Unfortunately I do not feel I could safely cater for a nut allergy sufferer as my house is always a "nut zone" (HAH)... Which I apologise for.
